AI agents. Processes reimagined.
AI agents represent a new level of automation within organisations. Rather than carrying out individual tasks based on rules, they handle complex workflows, analyse data and make decisions based on defined objectives.
Unlike traditional tools, AI agents do not operate in isolation, but as integrated systems within existing processes. They respond to changes, carry out multi-stage tasks and support day-to-day operations in real time.
This creates structures that not only operate more efficiently but can also be flexibly adapted to new requirements.
AI agents compared to bots and assistants
AI agents are often equated with traditional bots or AI assistants, but they differ significantly in the way they operate. Whilst bots generally follow predefined rules and respond to specific inputs, AI agents operate in a much more flexible and autonomous manner.
AI assistants fall somewhere in between. They assist with tasks, respond to enquiries and provide suggestions, but remain heavily reliant on interaction with users. Decisions are usually not made independently, but are guided by the user.
AI agents, on the other hand, pursue independently defined objectives. They analyse situations, make decisions and carry out actions without every step having to be initiated manually. This makes them suitable not only for simple interactions, but also for complex, multi-stage processes.
